This is the draft story line which me and Jennifer came up with one Friday night in a cafe.

Characters:

Alvin Lin - Male, Taiwanese, 25, Tall, Skinny, Good-looking
Alvin owns and runs a cafe which the story is set in, he is a hopeless fanatic with a lot of philosophies on life.

Coko Chin - Female, Australian Born Chinese, 20, 170cm 53kg
Coko is Alvin's ex-girlfriend, she is a very self-centered person.

Venus Ho - Female, Hong Kong, 20
Venus is a perfectionist who is very strict with herself, she is a friend of Alvin's, and also very self-centered.

Jackie Law - Female, Malaysian, 22, quite sporty
Jackie is Venus's flatmate, who is interested in Venus in a way that's more than friends.  She is also very profound and has her philosophies on life.

Chris Liu - Male, 29, Taiwanese
Chris is very career focused male, who is very conservative.  A very typical Asian male brought up with the typical Asian values.  Christ is a chauvinist.  He is the Boyfriend of Venus and he does not have any respect for Alvin.

Sam Chan - Male, 19, HK
Sam is young and naive, he is a typical Asian 'boy', who is very conservative, he is much like the little sister 'Phoebe' in 'Catcher in the Rye'.

The Storyline:

History of Coko and Alvin - Coko and Alvin have been lovers since High school, they are both musically talented.  Their basis for their romance is based on each other's music, however, Alvin was never able to write a song good enough for Coko.  Alvin was just never good enough, he kept getting rejected by the record companies and finally he gave up, and in turn hurt Coko, and they split up.  Alvin just cannot get over Coko and since then he has lived a very careless life.  Coko was very selfish and went onto date several guys, however, everything she gets hurt, she would run back into Alvins arms and leave the next day, leaving Alvin hurt and confused.  Alvin later started to run his own cafe and ever since has been trapped in this cafe like a cage.

The story is set in a cafe.

Alvin starts off playing music on a piano in the cafe.
Everyone starts off depressed in cafe each with their own problems.
Venus always come to the cafe as a getaway for her.

Jackie and Venus starts off in the cafe, and Chris rings Venus on her phone and they fought on the phone.  Chris has just lost his job, and instead of showing sympathy, Venus blames Chris for his carelessness.  The phonecall ends with Venus in tears.  Jackie comforts Venus.

As Alvin plays on, a beautiful girl goes to Alvin and starts to chat him up, they leave the cafe, (and you know what happens next *wink* : P), the cafe is a getaway from reality for all those there.

(a few minutes later)

Coko comes into the cafe with Sam, they started arguing as Sam finally found out that Coko is just using Sam as companionship and in fact she is dating another older guy.  Sam wants to break up and Coko leaves.

Jackie is being her nice old self and went to comfort Sam who is weeping quite depressed.  Sam confides in Jackie(and through this confession he reveal his typical Asian boys side)

(That night..)

Coko knocks on Alvins door, and embraces Alvin as he lets her into the house.

(A brand new day)

Chris comes into the cafe to find Venus, who is there with Jackie.    Chris talks about his problems with his career and Jackie disagrees with Chris.    The situation presents a conflict and Chris blames the situation on Venus.  Alvin comes to help solve the situation and befriends Chris, Venus and Jackie.  Alvin has all the answers when it comes to life, but he could never apply these answer upon his own life.

(another day)

Venus is facing more financial problems, and Jackie is always by her side to comfort her.

(Chris eventually marries Venus, a few years later)

Jackie and Venus drifted apart through the years.  Chris has a career which is now taking off, however Venus still cannot find happiness although everything else is perfect. Venus started to miss Jackie.  Later Venus has given birth to a baby girl, and Chris now has everything.. But love.

Venus comes to the cafe once again, and Alvin was there to give all the answers, Venus decides to go and find Jackie while Alvin finally comes to terms with things and finally has the courage to face Coko.

Whatever happens next? ... Doesn't matter, as long as they tried.
